200 MONGES RESERVA TINTO IS ON ANNIVERSARY!
The winery's ambassador to the world. The perfect balance between tradition and modernity is in celebration.
Nothing makes us happier than paying tribute to our most iconic wine during this year 2024. It was in 1994 when the first vintage of our iconic 200 Monges Reserva red wine came to light.
The result of a very careful selection of the best grapes and bunches to obtain a wine with exceptional potential, which retains all its aroma and splendor.
The grapes used are 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano and 5% Garnacha, harvested manually in 10 kg boxes. From vineyards with an average age of over 45 years. This year a partial destemming was carried out.
The wine has been fermented in truncated cone-shaped vats of French “Allier” oak for 13 days at a temperature ranging between 24 and 28ºC, remaining in the presence of the skins for a further 10 days, obtaining noble, firm and powerful tannins, giving us a long-lasting colour.
The wine was pumped over twice a day and clarified with regular racking. The wine was aged in new French (40%) and American (60%) oak barrels for 30 months, then left to rest for at least 40 months in our wine cellars. Before drinking, we recommend uncorking and decanting it for about 30 minutes to fully appreciate its aromatic potential.
Cherry red with a brick red edge. On the nose, ripe fruit, fine and creamy oak, forest fruits, stewed notes with slight balsamic nuances in the background. On the palate, powerful, expressive and complex, with soft and velvety tannins, notes of black fruits, very well-integrated sweet spices. Elegant, tasty, good acidity, with a long and persistent finish.
